Yesterday, the IE blog recapped the upcoming changes to IE's CSS support. Also Microsoft offers compatibility checklists for consumers, developers and IT folks to consider.

Just to keep semi-related links in one place: IE7b3 standalone installer.

I installed using this yesterday so I could do testing on a project that gets delivered next week. Works peachy so far.

Have you heard about the IE7 Readiness Toolkit? My team and I installed it on our machines this morning.

Toolkit's purpose, "Use this toolkit to evaluate what's new in Internet Explorer 7 and find information and tools to help you test the compatibility of your sites, extensions, and applications with Internet Explorer 7."

Just took a look at the toolkit. Will that still try to install IE7 over the top of IE6? I didn't really see anything that said one way or the other.

That standalone works like a charm, and dirt simple to install. Thanks for the link, nifkin.

    Hello,

I have seen in the news section a link to IEBlog "Details on our CSS changes for IE7"
    That looks pretty promising.

I have one question though... they said they fixed: "Parser bugs: * html, _property and /**/ comment bug "
so it means that the hack * html will only work for IE6, and not in IE7, right? ... which is logical! Otherwise, the "old site" with the hack will then break.

Well so far, all the pages I have created are working like a charm in IE7.

It will be cool if they add Web Developper tools like in Firefox ... though if IE7 behaves more like Firefox it is not that important.

Microsoft did add a Web Developer Toolbar. It's not as in depth as the Firefox extension, but it's still useful.

Check out the original blog post and the Beta 2 update at the IEBlog.
