I am currently in my junior year of study in Chicago - and would like to start working commercially. My instructors say my outlook is promising and that I have a lot of potential, but I'm not sure how I should go about putting myself out there.
I've been hunting on craigslist, but there are hardly any junior positions open in Chicago... -
Start with a resume and portfolio. Anything we can see?

Hey, I am in Chicago as well. There are plenty of junior positions out there but they are going to want to hire someone full-time. Your best bet is to create a portfolio website and start putting yourself out there to friends/family. Volunteer to do some small projects for free for your friends if you need pieces to put on your site. -

Lauraroeder.com have you ever worked on book publishing. I'm working on a project and might need some one. I don't spend to much time on print/publishing design.
