I have a reseller hosting account so I can host multiple web sites. The question is how should I go and set up the client's email and email password. If I do it myself I will know their password and some of them won't like this idea at all. The other option is I set up a long in for the entire domain but then they will be able to mess around with the entire domain set up options and might screw thigns up.

What would you suggest and how do you handle situations like this?

    Thanks,
    CO

There are hosting companies that offer "Reseller Plans" where you are able to resell their services with your brand.
This way you can create accounts for your clients and give them full control panel access.

    Check out http://www.hostgator.com/resellers.shtml

or Google for "Hosting Reseller Plans"

I don't know of any host that lets you create User Accounts with restricted control panel access.

There may be some out there though.

    pxlronin,

thanks on the info. i'm going with (tm). i was just wondereing if someone else had the same problem where clients didn't won't you to set up the password and wanted to have to "whole" control over the domain. i think i'll end up creating the account for my clients and so they have full control....but they have to be careful so they don't change anything else but the email.

    thanks again,

    co

I have accounts with MT as well but as you know that while they let you host multiple sites, they don't let you restrict access to certain areas of the control panel for other users.

What I do sometimes, If all my clients needs is the ability administer their email accounts, is set up Gmail for domains for my clients domain, that way they can administer their email and get the benefit of GMAIl for webmail while still having POP access.

    Check it out. https://www.google.com/a/

Thank you pxlronin i'll think about that solution...and maybe i'll create an agreement only for setting up email account so clients feel somehow safer.
