Every time I move to a new hosting company I think that it I finally found somebody reliable but it’s not the case.
Seems to me every time I moving website to a new location it getting worse from customer support to reliability of the server.
    Current company is - http://www.lypha.com/

I thought previous company was bad but this guys literary suck big one.
Online tech support is terrible tech guy couldn’t help have to open a ticket and wait for 24 hours to resolve the issue. Website is completely down for a second day and this is not the way you do business.
I don’t understand how such companies even able to exist online mostly I guess by lying people.
Two weeks ago my main website went down but I was able to fix it.
When I looked closely it appears somehow new version of the website got replaced by old one.
Well I didn’t do it then who!
As result I lost bunch of data and updates worse of couple month and the only thing I heard from tech support “Sorry about that”.
I still don’t know how that happened.

We I guess it’s time to start shopping around again.

I would highly recommend eleven2. I host with them at the moment and have been doing so for three months. Their hosting is excellent and the customer service is the best i have ever experienced.

You should have a look at www.mediatemple.com 's new grid server.
Its not a new idea, but it is new for media temple.
I have heard nearly only good things about them, and I think I may sign up.... all in good time though.

    Yes, Mediatemple is good one.
I used it and my almost 3+ sites are hosted with them.

Try if you have room for it.

(mt) MediaTemple is the best! I move all my clients to them, and host all my sites with them. They are rock solid and have the best customer service & tech support of any host I've ever used, and I've used a lot. I've been with them for over a year and I can't be happier with them.

They were that good before but now with this new service they just launched "Grid Server" they are even better. I helped beta test their new service and it just rocks! And it will only get better since they are still adding features.

You can't beat the price, 100 GB of premium storage, 1TB of transfer, 100 domains allowed, ruby on rails, 0 downtime, etc, etc, etc,

    Go check it out: http://www.mediatemple.net

And here is a coupon for 10% off: http://www.inconcrete.com/

Trying to get from them explanation how in world this happened.
The bummer part you can’t account anybody responsible for that.

    Well just my luck!

You can hold them responsible! You could hold them responsible for Loss of Wages due to the fact that the files were deleted! You are paying them for a service and their service is online file storage. They did not successfully store your files and this could cause you to not only loose money, but if it is a client's website then you could possibly get sued by your client. You have every right to get compensation from the hosting company, and if they try to blow you off file a law suit with them. You can do it yourself but it's better to get a lawyer to handle it.

You can at least get them to refund your money so you can go else where and get reliable hosting.

    Thanks,
    Seth

Not sure if you got refund probably not.
But I will post on every major blog how this company doing business to
make sure people stay away from them.
At this point they in my black book company list.
That's a thought maybe I should open a blog or something so people can share similar experiences.

    Hi everyone
    My first time here
I have been a costumer of Dot5Hosting for 2 months and they are to stay as far a away from.
Nothing works. PHP, mysql, upload, ftp,... Nothing.
I had 4 interventions so far.
And I want my money back.
Now, what if they don't want to give me?

    What can I do?

I have DV with Media-Temple. My DV account was set to expire in 5 days from hence, but I was billed $750 last week and informed I couldn't change to something shared. I am using about .00005% of my current capacity. It was frustrating. Their sales department seems to be somewhat detached from the objectives of their clients. In hind sight, while I can't necessarily fault their server solution, I've been somewhat frustrated by the whole sales department. They are eager to let you know why you can't do what you want to do rather than allowing you to do what you both know you could do if they wouldn't keep placing obstacles in your way.

Completely scalable web-hosting solutions? Only if you're scaling up. If you're scaling down it's hell. /meh.

    Ekonym!

For what exactly they billed you $750.
I have a regular media-temple shared account for a second month and didn't have any problems so far.
The only problem that I had with them when I tried to run ftp from a shell it didn't worked.
Apparently ftp wasn't installed on grid server which is completely stupid since it's a linux based server I think debian flavor. After several emails and couple calls I was able to get them to install regular ftp.
I also tried to unzip larger files up to 24G of size unpacked and server was able to handle it which several previous hosts are failed so I can't complain so far performance is very impressive.

    elector!

Did you paid for a year in advanced or on a monthly base?
I did this mistake couple times so I don't do year contracts any more with a hosting companies.
I prefer to pay more month to month and see how the perform for a couple month or so.
Even the current hosting that I have no perfect but it's pretty good so far compare with somebody else.
If you really disappointed with company and a lot of services that they suppose to provide are not working try to call them and talk to the manage to get your refund.
If they will be bitchy about that you might try other approach and nicely to tell them to inform online community through forums and blogs how they treated you.
Internet is power that we have to take such companies down.

I paid for a year. I know I've made a mistake. But it's my firs hosting and I never believed it could be so bad.

I figured that Internet is my only weapon. On every e-mail that I send them and ask for refund they reply with saying they will fix everything, and it's all a thing of the past,... you know. They offer one year 50% off, there months free... but it just not good enough.
Why would I want something free if it's not working.

    dmitryseliv,

I was billed $750 for the annual Dedicated Virtual hosting package. They wouldn't even allow me to go month-to-month so that I could get clearance and a cheque from the company I work for when the owner gets back. I ended up paying the hosting fee out of pocket. I wanted to change to the grid server plan, but couldn't do that I was told until I paid the $750 USD that actually isn't due until the first year of service is expired on December 15.
