I suppose this could be the "introduction" topic that this board lacks.
How is everyone? What areas do we all specialize in? Are we well established and working for someone or some firm or are we a freelance guy, learning more with every job (not to say you are above learning at any stage in your career)? I suppose you could tell your background story/information if you so wish.
Hello to you too, but you are asking too many personal details. We are here to help each other. At the same time, each of us is a competitor. Therefore, divulging what you have asked is not proper.
Sorry Nick - appears that Spooky's a bit paranoid.
I'm a full time presentational developer/designer in the interactive department of a large marketing agency in Boston. I do contract work as well if the job/price is right. Always learning... it's imperative in this field to keep yourself abreast of technology.
I'm currently working as an IT assistant / project manager / designer for a small business in Colorado. Right now I'm consentrating more on learning then on making money. I am still in high school but unlucky because my school does not offer any competant graphic design classes.
My favorite color is black, though green is nice too.
I'm also into sci-fi novels and tv shows. Go Firefly!
My school offers an awesome graphics class (known as Media arts using software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Maya, Dreamweaver, Flash) but the web design aspects sucks immensely.
Nice to see that in other countries this aspect is taken into account in schools. Here in Romania, you'd rip your hair out seeing a 'teacher' reading to the class from an old "HTML for Dummies" book (printed in '98). No support in schools whatsoever, but teachers still have the nerve of demanding cutting-edge as final exam projects.
Oh, and I am a Junior Webdesigner/Webdeveloper for a local advertising agency here in Piatra Neamt, Romania. So far I've been doing some heavy self-teaching but I reached a point where I realised addional web support is desperately needed. My interests spawn from Print, Illustration, and other Graphics to CSS, PHP, MySQL (recently e-commerce).
I've been trying to set up an online portfolio for more than a year now, but work and school have always got in the way.
My favourite colour combination is #FF6600 with anything ;))
I' m a 46 years old swedish female student (university) and I just love to design and build web sites. I always use xhtml/css except if a get a client who wants a more "traditional" structure with tables. *gah*
What's my skills?
I'm not really a newbee but I'm not a pro guru either, more self taught and still learning :)
I don't think I have a favourite color, I like to play with all colors in a dramatic way - dark vs. light, fading and so on.
I become a member here so I can share and learn, get inspired and develop my skills.
Hi there! I'm 15 years old. I'm from little beautifel country in centre of Europe, Slovakia. I know I'm so young, but I want to get some more knowledges in building web pages and be better in English.
I started in webdesign year-two ago. We had in school the web lesson but teacher weren't teaching us. We were teaching teacher. That was big fun, you know :)
And my favourite color are paris blue(dark blue) and ornage.
