It’s a good question. How we actually determine value of the domain? I guess there are two way of doing it: 1. If domain name contain some common word that easy recognized by most people then domain automatically has good value. 2. When you come up with some domain name that is catchy and easy to spell and you invest some time and money to marketing it. Meaning people knows the name and your domain has plenty of traffic. In this case domain became more valuable but in time.
In your case I wouldn’t say it has a great value maybe you need to invest some time on marketing it and put something up that people can use even if it’s a simple blog. But you never know you might try to put a sticker in FOR SALE maybe somebody will be interested.
There are companies that do Domain Name Appraisals. I've considered them for some domains I own, but never forked over the money, so I can't say if they're worth it or not, but they may at least be worth looking into. Here are a few companies that provide the service... if you end up using any, let us know how your experience goes:
I'm starting to realise that some blog like content, or a forum, combined with some prudent Adsense placement, might be a better option. If I can develop a wee community it's going to add more value than any other route I think... I just need to get my mate to write some content!
