    Hey guys,
I want to get into more of a CMS-approach for websites but I don't know where to start!
For about the past 2 years I've been using FusionNews since it sufficed my needs... I'd upload it, make a nice layout and post my news.. If I wanted to post more than one thing on a website (ie. Main News / Gaming News / Controversial News etc. ) I'd just upload another fusion news thing, rename it for what I want it to be and I'm finished...

I want to go farther than that though... What are some good easy-to-use CMS's out there?
I've used joomla! for a bit but didn't have enough time to set it all up so I stopped working with it..

I've also heard of wordpress but never really got into it..
Is it possible to turn wordpress into a website like this ? http://tyro-design.net with a menu and different parts of a site..?

Anything else out there that would benefit me?
    Thanks

It is possible to turn wordpress into anything. Wordpress is basically a php CMS. You can look at Drupal too, but has a higher learning curve than wordpress (even though it may look more attractive at first!).

I’m a designer-who-sometimes-programs and have to agree that Wordpress was easy to customise, easy for me. The trade-off is it’s not that flexible by default – however there are a plethora of plugins to extend it, and you certainly would have no problem recreating Tyro Design with it.

Also check out http://del.icio.us/search/?fr=del_icio_us&p=cms&type=all for what’s currently hot in the world of CMS’s, http://www.cmsmatrix.org/ is a useful tool also

Joomla is definitely a time-consuming venture (especially if you're interested in clean design and code), and too bloated for use on a simple site. Check out http://www.opensourcecms.com to demo some of the open source systems available and see what suits your fancy.

I have found that Wordpress can do almost anything I want it to, given enough tinkering. Wordpress has come a long way.

I have tried some other things like dupal and some other CMS systems, but, I always keep coming back to Wordpress.

You may want to look at CMS from Scratch. It's new, but I tried it and I think it's kind of cool.
