Anything Goes: Free Hit Counter?

    I can't bare to wade through the hundreds of ad-infested pages google returns to find a good free hit counter. Has anybody here used one in the past that they would recommend?

    Hit-counters are a bit 1990s... why not sign up for a free Google Analytics account and use that to track your hits invisibly?

    I am actually tracking this site with Google Analytics, but it is necessary to display a hit count on one of the pages. I ended up using this one which I found through hotscripts.com (thanks Matt!).
