    I thought the future of HTML was HTML 5.0?

    Heh, indeed.

    XHTML 2.0 wil work exclusively with XML/XSLT and won't be able to be served as anything but application/xml+xhtml and won't be backwards compatible.

    HTML and XHTML are parallel. It needs to be one or the other.
