We are a small web design company, looking for a logo designer to work on an off (freelance) when we need extra help. We pay by the client whenever you would be needed.

We aim for small target companies, meaning we only charge about $100 for a logo - a portion of this would then go to you.

    Interetsed? email careers @ onyxlogix.com.

This is not a paid opportunity, just something for people who have an interest in design and need a place to host their blog as opposed to Blogger and those sites.

You're looking for web professionals (ostensibly busy in their own right) to blog their expertise on your site, without pay, in order to drive traffic to your site -- and the incentive is free hosting?

Interested no. As Darren said most of us here professionals and we already have plenty of work and
don't have any problem getting new ones. If you looking for student then it's a wrong place to look.

    Cheers, DS

I can help no problem! I will forward you my info.

Also, what's with Darren Hoyt? There is no need for that hate here. Please take it elsewhere.

jsharma… The original post was changed dramatically. onyxlogix originally asked people to write blog entries on his/their website for free (not free… he was willing to host the blog). Darren's response is kind.

onyxlogix… Please don't be deceitful on these forums. This is a thriving community, and deceit is only going to harm it.

There was nothing hateful in Darren's comment. He's a person who doesn't want to waste his time donating his skills and expertise so someone else can profit. A share of $100 bucks to design a logo? No thanks.

onyxlogix… Let me be clear: I don't have any issue with your logo question. I'm not going to do it, but you asked a legitimate question. I just don't like the revision of the original post due to criticism. That said, like some others have said, you're probably in the wrong place to find somebody to do gratis (or almost gratis) logo work. Most of the people here consider themselves professionals, and your suggestion (right or wrong) offended most of them.

Good luck. I hope you find what you need.

Yeah, it's truly weird -- the original post was asking for unpaid guest bloggers to promote their site and onyxlogix would provide hosting "so the designer wouldn't have to go through a service like blogger" -- he was soliciting free content under the guise of doing someone a favor. As the question is now heavily edited, I'm even more suspicious of onyxlogix's intentions.

Exactly. I make a little time to design assets for charity sites ever now and then, but onyxlogix sounds like it's seeking a different kind of charity that most designers would object to.

For what it's worth, in the last ten minutes the name on onyxlogix's userpage has changed from "Sawan Patel" to "Rick Ta".

    Hi,
I apologize for my post. Thank you Darren and everyone else for bringing this to my attention. Please note that I did not intend for this. I realize that all designers like me are very busy and this request is not needed here. As for the name change, I changed it to my name since I administer it rather than the company owner, who had no part in this post. I have already discussed with him and he agreed with you Darren. This was all by me, not my boss or company. Again, please accept my deepest apologizes Darren, varland, jsharma and dmitryseliv.

As a rather newbie, I look forward from learning from experts like you in the future. Thanks.

No big deal to me personally, I was just confused -- my internet access was down since yesterday so when I checked in this morning and the wording was totally different, I wondered what was going on. We all make mistakes, it's commendable you took time to explain.

Judging from your pricing and offer, you may indeed be in the market for a student/intern designer, as Dmitry suggested.
