I need some kind of tool that will allow me to send out HTML emails just to test them to my various email accounts

Does anybody know of a good one? Preferably a free one

Try Thunderbird from the Mozilla Foundation.

Multi-platform versions, that can send HTML e-mails by simply creating a new mail then pasting HTML code in using the 'insert HTML' option.

It's free, stable and pretty feature ridden too!

Campaign Monitor is free online tool. It allows you to send HTML emails for testing.

Awesome info about Thunderbird. It might be pretty useful after all (I currently user Mailbuild, and it's just more steps than I need simply for testing)

another one worth looking at is gammadyne mailer. It's a desktop tool that has a lot of functionality.

or as their website describes it:
Gammadyne Mailer can automatically manage the mailing list by processing sign-up, opt-out, and bounce-back email. Of course, there are powerful tools for maintaining the list manually as well. Adding, removing, and changing recipients has never been easier - and the mailing list can be in a database, text file, or CSV file. Gammadyne Mailer makes your job easier with an arsenal of features: personalized messages, HTML, recipient filtering, multi-tasking, auto-responding, forwarding, list-serving, follow-ups, wizards, tutorials, a thorough manual, and much more.

It's not open source, like the thunderbird option mentioned earlier, but, it's very comprehensive and has a trial option on it so you can test sending HTML emails with it.
