    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have and opinions on the use of Sharepoint as a CMS for a corporate customer facing website?

My current company is looking at purchasing MS Sharepoint as an internal solution for document editing and storage of documentation. Such a program is great for internal customers. However I think the company would be reluctant to integrate any other CMS for the front end website due to the cost of Sharepoint (even if it is a free Open source CMS like Drupal)

I have heard that Sharepoint puts out tables (no Divs), and code which is only 100% correct on IE browsers. I have also heard that its difficult to custom theme.

    Any ideas?

    Many Thanks
    Vicky

Cameron Moll has a couple of good articles on the subject. Here's the latest: http://www.cameronmoll.com/archives/2007/10/sharepoint_2007_pointedly_unskinnable/

Personally, I hate Sharepoint to no end.

    hi,

I work for a local government and we have recently just developed our new corporate intranet. CMS is a mess, the code and the CSS, it looks like it has been produced by about 9 different people as its got px values, percentages here and there.. a mess.

If you have any questions just ask, im sure ill be able to help you!
