The Web xhtml mockup role is responsible for the development of presentation layer markup code using XHTML and CSS. This position will work closely with the Graphic Design team in the production and development of new page layouts for the Oprah.com website.
The position is in a fast-paced environment and the successful candidate must have a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely project completion. Additionally, the candidate must be a team player with a positive attitude, demonstrating a willingness to work extended hours on occasion to meet deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities Include: • Hand code XHTML and CSS to develop the framework for new page layouts • Work from visual mockups and wireframes as references • Collaborate and communicate with Graphic Design team members
Required Experience and Skills: • 5+ years demonstrated development experience with HTML and CSS • 1+ years demonstrated development experience with XHTML • Experience developing efficient page code from graphic page mockups • Knowledge of current web standards and browser compliance; understanding of client-side limitations and potential • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and highly tuned attention to detail • Ability to thrive under pressure, work independently and deliver in a fast paced multi-project environment • Ability to take direction from others, and demonstrate enthusiasm for getting the job done • Proven experience working in a team-based environment
