    Hi, I'm finishing up a Holiday Park site at the moment, I was just looking for some feedback on the general design and mark-up.

    I know the logo and the colors are not the best, but im kinda stuck with them.

    Any comments welcome.

    Thanks jsaul.

    Slightly larger body text size. I checked your site out on different screen resolutions and it is very small type on the larger resolutions.

    seems alright.. not sure what is meant in the previous post.about the text size, since all my browsers can increase or decrease text if needed... which I did on your site easily ...

    all in all it seems to work and thats the best thing you can say about cross platform websites in this day and age of non standardization.. LOL... everyone trying to invent their own way of doing stuff..so it dont work on the next guys stuff..

    ArcNeXuS.net: I just ment that the default font size should be slightly larger in my opinion - I know that users can change the font size as they need, but not all users may be knowledgable how to do this...

    Also, in the nav bar, the selected link (that turns black and underlined) may be hard for some to read on the purple background. Perhaps you can try white?

    Otherwise it looks nice. I love the slideshow banners.

    i do agree about the menu/nav bar at top .. colours are not the best..difficult to see.... but overall its doing its job ....

    If anything I think the links/images at the bottom should be moved up the page.. so both the nav bar and the links are showing immediately ...put the butterfly image behind the whitby park text at the top .. since its just eye candy .. serves no purpose where it is at the moment...so basically the nav bar colours should be more discernable and the eye candy should be moved or removed .. to make it more presentable.

    On a related note.. I dont see the slideshow since its scripted [ but I know its there]... probably lots more too since urchin and slideshow are both on same page and not showing up ...and the numbers of users turning off scripting due to ads and hacks is rising ..not declining..just another way to avoid the corporate barrage i guess...

    I myself am hoping to get some feedback on a post here on the code of a a recent major template overhaul....everything is Pure CSS but so far nobody has tested it in safari ...IE5...opera..linux or some of the more esoteric browsers...I am pretty sure its a true crossplatform.. but I dont have a mac....oh well.. live and learn..

    Hi,

    Thanks for the comments, some things to think about.

    @impresslab

    I originally had all nav link states as white, the client requested a color change for the current page link, Is it really that crucial to read the name of the page you are already reading anyway ? Surely the titles of the sections you HAVENT seen yet are to be of more interest to the user.

    @ArcNeXuS.net

    The butterfly image you have seen is probably the fall-back image placed behind the flash element (due to your javascript being disabled) I would not conisder this to be JUST eye candy, the natural beauty of the surronding area of the site and its native wildlife is one the the biggest selling points of the clients, these intial images are to sell the area the park is located in to the visitors not just to jazz up the design, once the user decides to investigate further the large slideshows are replaced with more modest graphics and supporting images.
