I have an ebook that came in CHM format. I used a little program called CHM Decoder to turn it into HTML for reading in my browser. It produced a site with the table of contents on in a narrow frame on the left, and each page loading in a frame on the right. I did this mainly so I can increase the text size as I’m reading (something windows’ CHM viewer doesn’t do). The problem is that when I do, the size in both frames increases, making the TOC unreadable. So what I’d like to do is somehow force a static font size for the left frame so the browser can’t change it… How might this be done? I suspect an answer will be hard to come by as this breaks accessibility guidelines, but seeing as this is only for me, no harm done… So is it possible?

    Hi Xichael,

from what I know, it's not possible to fix the font size, because the browser overwrites your settings. What about a style switcher for the right frame, which only changes the font size?

The only way to guarantee font size is with a graphic (including Flash). I think that the style switch that only affects the frame in which you want the font to adjust is the best bet.
