1) I'm having a hard time understanding what I'm not doing right as I'm trying to make sure that my multi-level drop down menu expands OVER the content below.

For an example, see the top right-hand corner nav bar as well as the main nav bar on this page (under IE6):

2) You'll notice the notice that stuff shifts around when you mouse-over the "Aide" button and when you mouseover the small icons under the thumbnails.
I tried playing with z-index and position, but there has to be something I'm not grasping as it's not working...

If anyone has the time/patience to explain it to me...
