JavaScript / DOM / AJAX: Pop-up window text not fitting in pop-up window dimensions

I use Javascript to make a hidden div appear. However, when it appears, the text doesn't render correctly in the window. It goes outside the window and also gets a little jumbled up within the window. This only happens in Firefox, not in IE. If I adjust the browser's text size after the pop-up window has appeared, the text suddenly fits in the window perfectly. Any suggestions?
