Hi! My name is Chris and I recently decided I didn't want to work in Real Estate anymore and began freelancing as a web designer (long story). At first I was coding sloppy HTML but in the past year I've tought myslef XHTML and CSS by looking at other site's source code. I have a lot of older sites, but only two XHTML/CSS that are curently live. I don't even know what exactly I want evaluated...I guess everything. With no formal training I feel pretty lost sometimes and don't know where to find answers.

    Here are my sites:

    www.TommyShankland.com
    www.CuginosGutters.com

These look fine in all the newest versions of today's popular browsers (IE, Safari, Chrome etc). I know IE6 has major issues with my sites...still trying to figure out how/and if I want to deal with that. I've submitted these sites to some "CSS Galleries" in the past and they were never posted...that's one reason I feel like I must be doing something wrong.

ANY AND ALL FEEDBACK IS WELCOME AND APPRECIATED!!!

They are very good for beginning work. With Cuginos, there are some issues with fuzziness, especially with the trees and brand name. There's also an obvious dividing line on the right-hand side in the leaves. I would actually go more for brushes for the leaves. Much more time-consuming work, but it would give a sharper edge if needed. Occasionally, I have gotten good results by adding several sharp/clear brushes on top of a blurry photo (like one the client wanted to use). Adding several leaves above the photo leaves could give a sense of depth.

Thanks for your feedback! The leaves are a problem because half of them are a high quality PNG and the other half are actually a part of the background image in low quality JPG...thus the fuzziness and the "line". I did this because of load time, but I'm going to trim down the leaves and fix it. I'm not sure why the brand name is showing up bad for you? It looks good on all of my computers...evem my iPhone. It does have a "paint brush" edge....maybe that's what you mean? Client wanted it to look that way. Anywho, thanks again for the comments. I just got my new personal site up over the weekend...still working on it, but check it out if you want: http://RevelationConcept.com .
