I am having issues with getting this page to render correctly in IE: http://web.utk.edu/~muiota

In firefox, safari, and chrome, the background will show up under the container like I want it to, but won't show at all in IE. The png that won't show up is fairly large, but I don't think it has anything to do with it. (I guess)

I've set the positions to relative in the css as I've seen mentioned on other posts and given the container a higher z-index, but that doesnt seem to make a difference. I've been trying to get this figured out for days and it's driving me NUTS!!! If anyone could help me out with suggestions or knows of a way to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it.
