First off, I must say I am glad to have joined this community. It seems to have a large group of CSS/Web design pros, and I am looking forward to learning more and more everyday.
The reason I posted this message is for you guys/gals to have a look at my new blog site which I have recently been developing (off and on) for about the last month. It uses TextPattern as the blogging engine, which I chose because I find it to be quite easy to customize with CSS.
Anyways, in regards to the site itself. It is pretty much my personal site, therefore it has a LOT of stuff that I am interested in. If you look at the CSS file, you may notice that it is a bit messy...I've yet to clean up the code. That brings us to why I posted up this message though. I wanted to know what other CSS pros out there think about my design and if there are any words of wisdom or critiques that would help my skills develop more efficiently.
I designed the site to be viewed with the Segoe UI font (will be the new standard Windows Vista system font), and provided a link to it in my navbar, however I have heard that it may not be fully legal to do so. Your thoughts? The last thing I want to do is get illegal on my personal development site, but ARGH that font just looks TOO damn nice and clean.
Anyways, man I digress...but I would really appreciate your comments and critiques all...I look forward to being an active member in these forums!! :D
first let me go straight to the point... we don't do site critiques, as specified in the forum rules.
Now that I've told you what the rules are, I want to welcome you to the forum, if you have any specific question feel free to ask.
As far as the Segoe UI font is concerned, no idea if it's illegal to provide a download link to it or use it. I myself wouldn't use it, since most people don't have it, and will not care to download a font, install it, just to view your site.
Hi there droppyale and thanks for the welcome...just wanted to confess to not reading the forum rules, I had seen a couple other requests like this in the forum...my bad. Also, the font thing is minor really, but i hope i didn't sound like a bastard presuming people will download a font all for my site alone. Anyways, the options there...i just figure that sooner or later people will have Windows Vista...im just a bit too ahead of schedule :)
Thanks again for the welcome, and I'll try to be a positive contributor on these boards in the future.
cheers!
