Hi there. I'm trying hard to save a site that I've designed, but I'm failing in a big way. I'm tempted to HIRE someone to help me fix it, but haven't a clue where to find someone to do that (so tips on finding someone to help clean up my CSS mess would be very helpful, too, but that isn't my question).

Is there any hope for this page:

    http://www.paulmeier.com/index.html

I've placed images on the left side of an absolutely positioned <div>, and can't get them to space out reasonably. Because PCs use larger fonts, I can't anticipate (on my mac) how much blank space to leave.

I've tried 11 different variations of fixes using CSS (putting in a table, taking out a table, putting in an unordered list, putting in a bunch of div's...) none of which work in IE6. I guess it is because the padding and margins are all screwed up.

    I'm so overwhelmed!

Other versions can be found at

    http://www.paulmeier.com/index_fixed8.html
    http://www.paulmeier.com/index_fixed9.html
    http://www.paulmeier.com/index_fixed10.html

    and at

    http://www.paulmeier.com/index_b.html

Now several of those iterations were just about figuring out colours...

Does anyone have something to keep me from giving up and never doing a web design again???

    HELP!

Please, and thank you, of course, in advance to anyone who can rescue me.

Hrm.. a couple things I see with those images. If you are going to float them like that and they get longer than the text then you will have to clear them. Take a look here:

That should cover your problem. Also I would suggest making sure your code is valid:

I design on a mac and have bought virtual pc to check all my sites. Couldn't work without it. Its a bit slow and clunky but fine for checking sites in explorer.
