    Codestyle.org offers this statistical breakdown about the native fonts installed on Macs vs. Windows and which are safest for use on the web:

    "How sure can you be that the font you specify will be present on the end user's machine? The results below are the latest periodic snapshot of the Code Style font survey and should give you greater confidence in selecting a font."

    Hi!

    You can't really guarantee that the font will be present on user machine but I think if you use any of the fonts that come by default with Windows and Mac you should be pretty safe. Also if you not sure what font present on user side it's a good practice to specify extra font to replace it in case it's missing. Then you still having control over the final result displayed on a user screen.

    Erm, unless I'm horribly mistaked that's exactly what this survey is about. Determining the percentages of who has what to decide what's safe to use or not.
