I've been dabbling with Wordpress templates for a few months now and am having some success at being able to control what I want. But, I've heard Expression Engine may be an easier route to take (although it's not free). Anyone have a favorite or have suggestions?
Never tried expression engine m'self, but I lurve the wordpress. I'm working (slowly) on moving my whole personal site into it so that all my otherwise static pages can be edited easier from within the admin interface, rather than having seperate templates for static pages and my blog.
I know there's several other sites (cssbeauty included) that run on moveable type but it's just never gotten me to fall in love with it the same way.
Wordpress is my current favourite - I've also used it as a simple CMS for flash sites! cmsmadesimple has been recommended often but i'm yet to test it fully.
I fully endorse expression engine. I just finished a rather large site with it, you can check it out at loyalisttraining.com. Expression engine was a dream to work with on this site. Give it a shot, there is a free version for personal use too!
