This is at least the second time you (and or your co-horts) have posted nothing but a link to your site on this forum. Please stop using this board as a means to build traffic to your half-baked website (spamming); we'd like to keep our conversations here.

The news section at css beauty does not allow news anymore. It are a happy few that post the news. css Beauty forum has a section which is called Links, Resources, Articles. So this post fits right in, regarding the post here: http://cssbeauty.com/skillshare/comments.php?DiscussionID=607&page=1. I saw the conversation opened right here and not there. But chill man, the authors work for free , and like to have a sound board. Dont get so upset, we are in it for the same game.
I agree on one thing: you are a free moderator here, and like to stick up for your forum of choice. Good on you, but css forums are used by many and not the best either. Fadtastic is a young horse, and is untamed. But stick around and you will see that co-horts are just people and no spam thank-you bums.

free speech still should be good quality speech. I aint no rockstar.

The free news section at stylegala (almost sold) is dead as a zombie. It is the laughing stock of all its community.

I disagree. I am in no way affiliated with CSS Beauty - other than my participation on this forum. I have submitted news stories - some of which are accepted, some aren't.

True. And perhaps you're right since I appear to be the only one who has a problem with you posting this type of thing. My annoyance derives from the fact that you are using this board merely for the promotion of another site rather than keeping what might be a helpful discussion here on the CSS Beauty forum.

Nice horse metaphor. If what you've displayed is the calibur of writing on "Fadtastic", I'll remain here.

    P.S. - I'm not upset in the least. :)

Still maybe you don't know but Alex Giron said himself that he asked people like Dustin Diaz, Cody Lingley, etc ... (the known guys) to add news so you won't be able to submit any news anymore. Al these people add news items, no one ever complains about those. They are untouchables.

You love it here way too much.

    Completetly untrue.

here is the post for anyone that hasn't seen it:
    http://www.cssbeauty.com/archives/2006/May/goodbye_css_beauty/

In fact, there is a "submit news" tab on the home page where anybody can submit news.

Some news items are not accepted, but anyone has the chance to submit.

I must say, it does bother me a bit that people come here and throw links just for traffic, that's no way to build a community, trust me, if people find your content valuable, they will link to your site themselves and will continue to visit your site...

That's what's weird, linking to your own site, it takes the credibility of the site away.

Of course, people link from their sites which is a real honour if they do.
It's not about traffic or building communities - it is about sharing information and discussion.

Tangental: and who exactly are you sharing information or discussing with if it's not part of "the community"?

Seems like the issue is starting a post to discuss something you wrote and starting the discussion with nothing but a link. to that post.

Why not rely on the commenting abilities of your own site for discussion? I think it's okay to post a link to your own content; if it is a reference point for a discussion already in play.

I've gotten a hard time before on Skill Share for linking back to my own site (perfect place to enter URL here); but I go out of my way to make sure I only do it if it is in relation to the topic.

Chill man - good articles should be allowed to become famous no matter where or how they are posted. If the content is good then CSS beauty should be proud that someone would want to let their reader know about it. I'm sure they don't post information in any old portals!

Lets not get nasty kids - play fair. I'm sure CSS play has posted links to itself when it was starting off.

Not sure that's really the point in this case. The thing that grinds my gears is the idea that "I made a new blog post, I'll go post it on SkillShare!" is quite literally (8 visits, 2 new threads, 0 other posts, period) the ONLY reason this person has EVER been here.

Maybe so and I see what your getting at. Thing is your going to get that if you have an open portal - free to all. Its not in the t's and c's you cant do that kind of thing.

Saying that, I do think its a good article and therefore worth the read for SkillShare users.

So what you're saying is "because skillshare is the forum aspect connected to a popular site people are allowed to just show up and linkspam because that's the way it is"?

So, if this was a forum that wasn't on the same server as the main CSS Beauty site would that behavior still be allowed?

I just don't feel like it's acceptable forum behavior regardless of whether it's on cssbeauty.com or My0TrafficCssForum.com.

And others cant understand yours since you think that posting an article/in the links, resources section related to webdesign is link spam.

A nitpicker complains about anything and everything else.

nifkin has a point, if I wanted links to recently written posts, wouldn't I go to Digg (or something similiar) for that? I look at Skill Share as more of a solution and answer relationship. If it is News, keep it with News.

Point and Case -- the author of this post hasn't even been active on Skill Share since the date posted -- does he even care what we write or think? If he did -- one would think he would be here discussing the topic.

    aspiramedia, where are you?
