    I'd like to implement a contractible header with a slide effect on my site, similar to the one used by Shaun Inman (http://shauninman.com). I tried viewing his source code but was re-directed to a 404 page (clever bastard).

    Can somebody please tell me where to find a free script that does this, or another site that's implemented it?

    I've already tried accessing Shaun's script with that URL, only this time instead of being re-directed to a 404, I got a 403: Forbidden error.

    However, your script looks promising. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

    EDIT: Your script has a noticeable flicker on pageload. Any idea how you could fix this?

    Libraries such as Moo.FX have this sort of functionality out of the box, may be worth looking into.

    Moo is a bit more lightweight, but you might also want to take a look at Script.aculo.us. Check out effect.toggle in scriptaculous wiki.

    jQuery features built-in slideUp/slideDown functions as well. (Use docs are here.)
