I am looking for tutorials online but either I'm doing something wrong or as of yet have not located the exact tutorial I would need. I am trying to make a horizontal CSS menu that uses the ul li tags. I want to define the links in this menu to have a fixed height and width as well. The above mentioned tutorials are pretty good. If you want to look at some simple code you can see what I did on http://justconfirmed.com/ -- pretty basic and should provide a good place to start if you are the type that works well with reverse engineering something.
