I've seen a few articles on replacing unstylable form controls with JavaScript, DOM, and CSS. However, I have not seen major sites using them yet. Do you have any comments on the subject?
I highly doubt major sites (or at least the corporate ones) will be using the form controls replacement scripts because the OS/browser generated controls are quite similar to the ones on their client's desktops. The user experience is less traumatising for people who aren't too comfortable on computers.
It's sad for the global visual experience on a website, but I think it's better for general accessibility.
