    Hi Adjustafresh

    i was wondering if you can point me in right direction. i need to create an image of my daughter and want it to have the same look like the image you have of yourself (at least I think it is you);

    did you create that from a photo? do you know of a good illustrator tutorial to complete this task

    Yes, that's me. That image was traced from a photograph. I used Freehand which was Macromedia's vector illustration tool before the Adobe buyout. Illustrator woiuld do the trick as well. If you don't have access to that software (it can be pricey) check out Inkscape. It's a pretty good open source alternative.

    Has anyone ever tried out the Live Trace tool on Illustrator? I currently use Fireworks, but I'm going to upgrade to Illustrator soon.

    that is what i've been using (live trace) to create the illustration- but having trouble using it with a photo (so many colors), if you are using a stretch that you draw on paper and scan it in - it works great!I justhavent masterdd it yet and there arnet many tutorials using the live trace feature with photos- just the old way of tracing the image yourself with the pen tool. howver i hear using live trace with a photo, its better to create strong contrast in photoshop first, havent tried it yet but makes sense. I like fireworks but holy crap illustartor Cs2 kills fireworks- there are just so many features, effects, graphic styles its crazy - and the combination of illustrator and photoshop - damn all you need
