General Design: Looking for some comments on a design for my current client.

    The image doesn't look too great because it's just an image but I'll be putting a dark BG color in the CSS. Next time I update this I'll show some color on the sides to get an idea.

    :D I'm working with my client who is a pretty cool guy. He's making the logo ATM but when he sends me it I'll put it in the design.

    The white part at the top is where im putting a custom navigation for his site. It's going to be words in the style of the sidebar line... handwritten sorta...
    The burlap-textured left part is the logo background. The site is a tshirt store so I though a cloth texture would be fun. The white clothing tag on the header is just a fun little addition, that shows the visitors that the site is a clothing store, much like the logo BG area would. The sidebar is for the different clothing catagories and some advertising possibly.

    Any questions or comments are welcome. This is a WIP so i'll update this from day to day. I'm not looking for real serious critism, just on the colors and styles.

    That vertical line between the sidebar and main content area should be fun to program. Hopefully you're planning on keeping that a fixed size.

    pettyrider: thanks man, it'll get better.

    ajustafresh: I dont think it'd be that difficult. Just slice outside the line (right side) and have it be a fixed sidebar.

    I'm actually doing this fixed upon request but I think this would look good fluid.

    I'll experiment when I hit the coding stage.

    The vertical line wouldn't be a problem. Background-image aligned right top.

    as long as the image is meant to be a fixed size... you're correct. I was imagining the sidebar stretching further down the page.

    I still could, the background image just has to be made large enough to extend off to the left. Basically, just wider than it appears to be in this comp.

    I was thinking having it fixed and having the sidebar itself an off-white saturated pink color. you'll see when I update it next, which should be tonight.
